CAPS
CAPS- stands for Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist. This certification was developed
by the National Association of Home Builders in collaboration with the NAHB Research Center, NAHB 50+ Housing Council and
the AARP. It was developed to address the growing number of consumers that will soon require these modifications. Graduates
of this program are required to maintain their designation by attending continuing education programs and participating in
community service as well as upholding a code of ethics.
CAPS professionals have been taught the strategies and techniques for designing and
building aesthetically enriching, barrier-free living environments.
Some of the issues that may need to be addressed are bathtubs, shower areas, install
grab bars, better lighting (daylighting ideas) widening door openings and adjust countertop heights to increase access and maneuverability. There are many
areas of your home that may need to be modified as you mature. We are here to help you and to make your home as comfortable
as possible.
