Virginia Joyce Russell Gettings, age 68, of Louisville,
KY formerly of Tompkinsville , KY passed away January 15, 2012 at her home.
She was born January 13, 1944
in Monroe County to the late Lawrence Lester Russell and Ova Helen Geralds Russell. She was a homemaker and a member of
Expressway Church of Christ in Louisville. She was united in marriage on December 10, 1960 to Joe Eagle Gettings who
preceded her in death on May 23, 2004.
She is survived by two daughters: Donna Sue Taylor and Lori Dianne Clark
both of Louisville, KY, two brothers and one sister-in-law: Tim Russell of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Al and Terry Russell of Indianapolis,
IN, two sisters and one-brother-in-law: Phyllis and Jimmy Thompson of Tompkinsville, Janette Emberton of Indianapolis,
IN, five grandchildren : Michael Taylor and wife Karla, Donald Taylor, Jr., Sarah Encarnacion, Jeremy and Nick Clark , four
great-grandchildren: Julianna, Gabriella, Nathan and Xavier.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded
in death by a son-in-law: Donald Taylor, Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, January 19 at 11:00 AM
at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Moss Cemetery in Moss, TN.
Visitation will
be from 1:00 to 8:00 PM on Wednesday and after 7:30 AM on Thursday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville
