Mildred Katharine Hanes

Mildred Katharine Hanes, age 92 of Scottsville passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2011 at the Cal Turner Extended Care.

 A lifelong resident of Allen County, she was born to the late Frederick Andrew Coots and Lela Margaret Shaw Coots. Mrs. Hanes had worked for the Washington Overall and General Electric and a member of the Mt. Union United Methodist Church.

 In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Randal Herbert Hanes; brother, Burton Coots; sister, Burdine Douglas.  

She is survived by her son, Wayne Hanes and his wife Sue of Scottsville; daughters, Lynda Skaggs and her husband Willie, Judy Wooten and her husband Jerry all of Scottsville; six grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.  

Funeral service will be conducted on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Strode Funeral Home in Scottsville with Bro. Chuck Pruitt officiating.  Interment will follow in the Mt. Union United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Friends may call after 11:00 A.M. on Sunday, August 28, 2011 at the Strode Funeral Home.
