Lucille Chapman Lyon

Lucille Chapman Lyon, age 93, of Tompkinsville passed away Monday, November 7, 2011 at NHC Health Care in Glasgow.

She was born in Monroe County, KY on February 23, 1918 to the late Robert M. Chapman and Gurtrude Isenberg Chapman. She was a homemaker and a member of Tompkinsville Church of Christ. She was the widow of Cecil Herbert Lyon.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law: Barbara and Bill Travis, Charlotte and Clay Hundley all of Tompkinsville, Sharon and Mike Smith of Baton Rouge, LA, 10 grandchildren: Dr.William Joseph Travis, Debra McCracken, John Cecil Travis, Nancy Hundley, Charlton Hundley, Tracey Goodwin, Michael R. Smith II, Lyon Wesley Smith, Justin Hollis Smith and Nathan Buckley Smith, and 14 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by six brothers: Lovell, Logan, Garnet, Ernest, Monte and Buford Chapman and three sisters: Ina Miller, Grace Palmore and Nadine Bowman.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 10 at 11:00 AM at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville with burial to follow in the Mt. Gilead Cemetery.

Friends may call after 4:00 PM on Wednesday at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville.

Memorials are suggested to the Mt. Gilead Cemetery.
