Marilynn Thames Draggoo

Marilynn Thames Draggoo, age 79 of Scottsville, passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2011 at her residence.  

She was born May 22, 1932 to the late Lynn Huie Thames and Mary Faye Strong Thames in Sarasota, Florida.  She was a retired elementary school teacher for the state of Florida school system, a member of the Trammel Fork Missionary Baptist Church where she was a teacher and a pianist, the Halfway Homemakers, and the Scottsville YMCA.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Duard Ray Thames.

She is survived by her son, Lynn Miller Draggoo of Scottsville; daughter, Amy Draggoo Croom and her husband Mike of Chattanooga, TN; sisters, Martha Shadix of Scottsville, and Marie Smalling and her husband Henry of Bowling Green; 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.  

Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, September 9, 2011 at 2:00 PM at the Strode Funeral Home in Scottsville with Rev. Jim Gifford officiating.  Burial will follow in the Trammel Fork Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.

Friends may call after 12:00 P.M. on Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the Hospice of Southern Kentucky or the American Cancer Society.
