Ruby B. Murphy Thompson, age 91, of Louisville, KY, formerly
of Monroe County, passed away Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at Hosparus In Patient Care Center in Louisville. She was
born in Cumberland County, KY, on January 19, 1920, to the late Vilas Murphy and Orphy Tooley Murphy. She was a member of
Lyons Chapel Church of Christ, a retired homemaker, and the widow of Leonard Thompson, who died October 28, 1992.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at the Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with entombment
to follow in the Monroe County Memorial Lawn Mausoleum.
She is survived by one son: James Thompson of Louisville,
KY; one daughter: Joyce Wommer of Louisville, KY; one brother: Newman Murphy of Tompkinsville, KY; one granddaughter: Judy
Graves; one great-grandson: James Graves.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death
by a granddaughter, Pamala Tomes, a brother, Noble Murphy, and three sisters, Ina Cloyd, Irene Palmore & Robbie Gramlin.
Friends may call at Strode Funeral Home in Tompkinsville after 2:00 P.M. Friday.
